The line, stage by stage
From harvested lot to sealed pack
Seed handling and intake
Incoming lots are received, recorded and stored separately so that nothing is mixed before it has been assessed.
Cleaning
Straw, chaff, soil, weed seed and damaged grain are removed so that only sound seed continues through the line.
Drying and grading
Moisture is brought down to a safe storage level and seed is graded for size and uniformity.
Quality control
A lot is checked before it is approved for packing. Anything that does not meet our standard is held back.
Packaging
Seed is filled into sealed packs and labelled with the product name, pack size and company contact details.
Storage
Packed stock is kept cool, dry and off the floor, away from fertiliser and pesticide, until it is despatched.
Distribution
Stock moves out to dealers on a schedule built around the sowing calendar rather than around the warehouse.
